Small Town Vacation Harlan KY

Sometimes what people need in life is to unplug and relax.  When you are surrounded by mountains, you feel at nature and relaxed.  The Appalachians are great for finding your center, and a town like Harlan is a great town for this.  My trip to Harlan was just this.   Coming into this town I began losing my connectivity to my cellphone and for a brief moment the techie in me was yelling at Google and then upon seeing the mountains from horizon to horizon I began to allow the inner peace to come.  Harlan Campground is a decent place to stay for campers and there are places for RVs.  The cost is reasonable and the views to die for.  One might say that Harlan is the place to go to unplug and relax for a few days. There are a few hole in the wall places that are must for food.  Places like Dairy Hut, offer outside dining for those like myself who are Covid-conscious folks.  They offer many flavors for their milkshakes, as well as, fried foods...

Lexington Brewing Company

If Kentucky was to be noted for things it would be horses, basketball, and most importantly whiskey.  Lexington, Kentucky is a mecca of distilleries of delicious bourbon.  The Lexington Brewing Company is just one of those distilleries. Walking into the Lexington Brewing Company, you smell the wooden floors and the next thing you notice is the faint tease of bourbon permeating in the air.  The gift shop itself is like you just got off a train in the 1920s and you are looking at old Irish style train station.  Different parts of their business surrounding you, the smell of the cedar floors teasing your nose, and with all the whiskies they have to sell there just mixing with the wood flooring make for a time you will never forget. The prices of whiskey to take it home are also super reasonable.  You can't get the cost of whiskey better than right from the supplier, its about 35.00 for the big bottle.   It is a place you will go back to again and again wh...
