Small Town Vacation Harlan KY

Sometimes what people need in life is to unplug and relax.  When you are surrounded by mountains, you feel at nature and relaxed.  The Appalachians are great for finding your center, and a town like Harlan is a great town for this.  My trip to Harlan was just this.

Coming into this town I began losing my connectivity to my cellphone and for a brief moment the techie in me was yelling at Google and then upon seeing the mountains from horizon to horizon I began to allow the inner peace to come.

Harlan Campground is a decent place to stay for campers and there are places for RVs.  The cost is reasonable and the views to die for.  One might say that Harlan is the place to go to unplug and relax for a few days.

There are a few hole in the wall places that are must for food.  Places like Dairy Hut, offer outside dining for those like myself who are Covid-conscious folks.  They offer many flavors for their milkshakes, as well as, fried foods and absolutely delicious burgers.  I had a bacon cheeseburger.

It doesn't take much to not miss call of the phone and the rush of the daily grind and perhaps you may find yourself in Harlan one day.  Unplug sit down, a glass of tea and turn that phone off for a few days.
